Go Through: How To Keep Going When Life Is Hard

Life often throws curveballs that can, at times, knock us off our feet. In this life you will face tough moments and go through rough patches. During challenging times, you can feel as though you have no strength to make it. Have you ever felt that way before? I know I have on many occasions.

I remember one day, while going through a particularly rough season, I found myself praying and expressing my concerns to the Lord. I was honest with Him about how I felt —I was feeling weak and overwhelmed, as if I were spiraling and losing grip on my faith. The pressure was becoming overwhelming.

Amid the tears and frustration, I came across Isaiah 43:2, that says that when you go through deep waters that are close to drowning you and fires of oppression that are close to consuming you, God will be with you.

”When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.” – Isaiah 43:2 NLT

When we are going through tough moments and rough patches, we must remember that God is with us. I want to remind you (and myself) that we are not walking alone – God is present in every moment, both good and bad.

Truth be told, we should have already been consumed and overtaken by life’s difficulties long ago – because life be lifeing; it is the grace and mercy of God that keeps us day to day.

It’s a lie from Satan that would make us believe that God abandons us in tough seasons.  When He is the one holding us up through the deep waters and shielding us from the consuming flames.

It’s both encouraging and sobering to know that God is with us in rough seasons. In Him, we don’t have to be overtaken, burned, or consumed when life gets rough.

Lean in and trust God with whatever situation you’re facing. You may have to wake up every day surrendering that situation over to Him, and as you do, remember that God is with you.
